Planning a Wedding?

How Review and Approval Work

  • Submit your application using this page.
  • The church office screens the application for completeness and verifies requested dates.
  • The Deacon Board and House & Grounds Committee review the proposed use, fees, deposits, and any support needs.
  • You receive a response, along with any additional requirements that apply to your event.
  • Required documents — including a certificate of insurance for outside users — are received.
  • Approved applicants receive payment instructions and space access information.
  • Your event takes place.
  • A post-event inspection of the space occurs.
  • Your deposit is returned if all conditions are met.

Expected review target: 48 hours from receipt of a complete application.

Payment timing: Payment is requested after approval, not at the time of application.

What You Will Likely Need

The following items apply to most community use requests. Additional requirements appear below as you select spaces and add-ons in the estimator.

Standard requirements

  • Completed application form (this page)
  • Organization name, contact name, address, email, and phone
  • Event description, purpose, dates, times, and estimated attendance
  • Names of all persons authorized to access the building for your event
  • Agreement to restore the space to its original condition after use
  • Certificate of insurance (for outside users — may be submitted after approval but before access is granted)

Additional requirements based on your selections

  • Gymnasium: One-month advance notice required. Maximum four-hour session. Gymnasium waiver form required. Memorandum of Understanding may apply for recurring use.
  • Sanctuary / AV: Church-approved AV operator only. No personal laptop or portable equipment may be connected to the system. AV technician fee applies and is set at review.
  • Kitchen: Kitchen access is a separate request from the main hall and subject to its own review and authorization.
  • Linens: Hospitality Committee authorization required. Handling and return instructions will be provided at approval.
  • Incompatibility notice: The Parlor does not permit food or drink. If food or drink is part of your event, please select a different space.
  • Minors / Safe Sanctuary: Events involving children or youth in classrooms or the Youth Attic require a written Safe Sanctuary agreement prior to access. Additional review will apply.
  • Recurring use: Recurring use requests receive additional review and may require a Memorandum of Understanding. Each session is subject to the same terms as a single-event application.
  • Admission or ticket sales: The church policy does not permit handling admittance-related payments on behalf of outside users. If your event charges admission, this will require additional review.

Apply for Community Facility Use

Additional Materials or Arrangements by Request

The community use process covers most standard event needs. In some cases, additional arrangements — outside the standard equipment and space list — may be possible through direct conversation with the church office. These are handled case by case through review, not as automatic approvals.

To discuss an arrangement not covered by this page, include it in the "Additional or Negotiated Requests" step of the application form, or contact the church office directly.
