HOUSE AND GROUNDS POLICY AND PROCEDURES

Outline of Responsibilities

The House and Grounds (H&G) Committee is responsible for the maintenance and care of the physical properties of Yates Baptist Church, including but not limited to all structures, their mechanical systems, parking areas, landscaping, and overall outdoor appearance.


A. Church Member Requests

  1. If you notice a problem with the house or grounds, please fill out a request form and place it in the H&G work request box. Any emergencies (such as water leaks) should be reported to the staff immediately. The request box is located in the vestibule at the back of the sanctuary.
  1. The H&G Committee will empty the receptacle weekly and review requests at its monthly meeting.
  1. If you provide contact information, H&G will respond to your request following the monthly meeting.

B. Decorating or Changing Facilities or Grounds

  1. A detailed outline of proposed changes or improvements must be submitted to H&G for review and approval prior to altering any facilities or grounds.
  1. If you hang temporary items on the walls, use painter’s nondestructive tape.
  1. If you wish to change the house or grounds in any way, fill out a work review form prior to beginning the work. Please note that decorating groups have chosen the colors, and any new colors must be pre-approved.
  1. Any furnishings, décor, or artwork should be submitted for review and approval in advance.

C. Access

  1. All spaces in the buildings must be accessible via building master keys.
